Gettysburg Museum & Visitor Center
The Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center is an don't-miss destination for history enthusiasts. It showcases thought provoking films about the causes and results of the Civil War, the three days of battle at Gettysburg, recreated voices of soldiers, and two feature media experiences. The first, A New Birth of Freedom narrated by Morgan Freeman, is a multi-projector panoramic film that tells the story of the Battle of Gettysburg in the broader context of the Civil War. Two 150-seat theaters rotate the film.
The second, the Cyclorama Sound and Light Show, is a 360-degree sound and light experience that plays out on Philippoteaux's recently restored 1864 cyclorama painting. It features a host of A-list voices including Glenn Close, Ben Affleck and Tim Daly.
